Using GenAI poses a lot of challenges to fulfill regulatory requirements on the Technical Documentation, especially on the use of the information via Content Delivery Portals. Facing an even fiercer skills shortage will require granular information out of the Technical Documentation. But, this has some hidden drawbacks in the area of displaying safety related information according to the Machinery Directive and ISO 12100.

GenAI alone is not able to recognize the importance of safety information and is not able to follow the right sequence of information.

This is  where we started. We were analysing content of a bolter miner, especially the hydraulics part and have built up an iiRDS related RAG, guaranteeing the right sequences and guaranteeing that safety information comes along and at the right place when using AI.

Takeaways

  1. Limits of AI for the use of documentation in regulated markets
  2. Why iiRDS is the best choice in that case
  3. Using the iiRDS based RAG together with GenAI to get the best of both worlds even for regulated markets
  4. How this is applied for safety
